what is faith and how to use it?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 ( kjv)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 ( kjv)

I was in bible study one Wednesday, and the teacher was teaching from Hebrews 11:1 and he pointed out something interesting.   .He said that, some people read the scripture without acknowledging the word now before faith, and that  it's important to remember to use the word now so it reads now faith, in the present tense. Have you ever heard someone quote the scripture without saying now faith first? Some people have very little understanding of this one verse, so I want to share what I've learned by   giving you examples of what  faith is,  and how it will help you in life.
With  faith, you believe even though you don't actually see it.
If you have faith in almighty God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob you have the assurance and convictions that he will answer your requests  according to your faith.For example; I work all week long before I get paid, but I have faith that I'm going to reap the rewards of my labor in two weeks. Another example;  I am getting ready to eat a delicious red apple, but I don;t know how it's going to taste, but,  I have faith that a red apple is going to be sweet when bite into it.  These are examples of the kind of faith that our heavenly father wants us to have in his holy word.  He wants us to believe that no weapon formed against us shall be able to prosper. He wants us to receive his unconditional love by faith, his healing by faith, his anointing by faith, his power by faith, and eternal life by faith.

When someone  turn from sin and turn their life e over to the Lord, They must  have faith to believe that you have been born again,washed them and cleansed them from all unrighteousness, praise the living God and then after they believe, they must act on it because faith without works is dead. Pray my strength in the Lord,

Why does Everyone Needs 3 Homes?

One may ask, What is a home?  A home is a place where you feel loved, a place where you feel safe, a place to spend time with those you love, a place to find rest, and a place to strengthen your relationships.  My prayer is that you have a home in which you are able to experience these things.

The bible tells us that we can know for sure that we have a heavenly home.
  1.  Romans 3:23 tells us that we are all sinners saved by grace.
  2. Romans 6: 23 tells us that there is a price to be paid for our sins, and that price is death.  Of course, we all must die, but Revelation 20:14 states that death and hell were cast into the lake of fire and this is the second death.
  3. Romans 6:23 also tells us the good news that the payment for sin's price has been made available as a free gift from Jesus Christ.
  4. Romans 5:8 gives us the good news that Christ paid the payment for sin by his death on the cross.
  5. Romans 10:13 tells us that whosoever, MEANING YOU, will call upon Christ to accept his gift, shall be saved!
My question to you is, Have you accepted his gift?  1 John 5:13 says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

The Power of a Praying Woman Book Review

The Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie

 The power of a praying woman is a book that was written by Stormie Omartian.   This book is not only awesome but deep and powerful as well! I read this book more than once.  It doesn’t matter what age you are, what your marital status is, what the condition of your body and soul is, or how long you have or have not been a believer- if you are a woman, I summit to you today to get this book in your possession.  For one, Stormie’s been a follower of the lord well over thirty years and counting, and she  knows about praying because according to the book, she’s a praying woman, and she knows from experience that there’s power in prayer.  Two, I recommend it because it also teaches you how to pray and what to say while praying for whatever it is you  need to pray about.  Three, I recommend this book because I can relate to the stories she tell and examples she gives about struggles that women face on a daily basis.  Lastly, I recommend it because when I’m praying about a situation, I can go to her book, look in the contents and find a topic related to my situation read it and find comforting words to draw strength from and find a prayer that I can use for my situation without struggling with what to say and how to say it because the prayers Stormie gives to her readers are perfectly fit for the situations given.  Stormie has something in this book that every woman can draw strength from, and these are the reasons why I recommend this book to all of you women.

Lessons From the Sun and the Wind

The Sun and the Wind

The Wind and the Sun once had a quarrel.  The wind boasted that he was much stronger than the Sun.  He said to the sun, “I’ll show you I’m a lot stronger than you.  See that old man over there with a big coat on?  I bet I can make him take his coat off quicker than you can.”

“All right, we’ll see,” said the Sun.  So the Sun went behind a cloud but left a little hole so he could peep through and see what the Wind did.  The Wind blew and blew as hard as he could causing a terrible storm, but the harder he blew, the tighter the old man wrapped his coat about him.  Sometimes, it seemed that the coat would blow right off the old man, and sometimes it seemed the old man would topple over. In the end, the poor old Wind had to give up trying, and the sky became calm again.

Then it was the Sun’s turn. He came out from behind the cloud and smiled with sunshine at the old man.  The sky began to brighten and birds had taken cover from the wind came out and chirped sweetly at the old man.  After a while, the old man began to smile and said, “What a remarkable day this has become.”  Soon he pulled off his coat to enjoy the day.

The Choice by: MAX LUDACO

 Max Ludaco's book says it best

When God Whispers Your Name (The Bestseller Collection)

Each day is given to us as a gift from God.  what we do with it and how we may handle it, is the choice each of us make.  Let me share with you some thoughts from Max Lucado's book" When God Whispers Your Name" as to his choices for the day:

It's quiet...In a few moments the day will arrive.  In these next hours I will be exposed to the day's demands.  It is now that I must make a choice.  Because of Calvary, I'm free to choose. and so I choose.

I choose love. No occasion justifies hatred; not injustice warrants bitterness. I choose love. Today, I will love God and what God loves.

I choose joy....I will invite God to be the God of Circumstances.  I will refuse the temptation to be cynical.  I will refuse to see people as anything less than human beings, created by God.  I will refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God.

I choose peace. I will love forgiven. I will forgive so that I may live.

I choose patience... I will overlook the inconveniences of the world.  Instead of cursing the one who takes my place, I'll invite him to do so.  Rather than complain that the wait is too long.  I will thank God for a moment to pray.  Instead of clinching my fist at new assignments, I will face them with joy and courage.

I choose kindness...  I will be kind to the poor, for they are alone.  Kind to the rich for they are afraid, and kind to the unkind for such is how God has treated me.

I choose goodness...I will go without a dollar before I take a dishonest one.  I will be overlooked before I will boast.  I will confess before I will accuse.  I choose goodness.

I choose faithfulness...Today, I will keep my promises.  My debtors will not regret their trust.  My associates will not question my word.  My wife or husband will not question my love, and my children will never fear their mother or father will not come home.

I choose gentleness... nothing is won by force.  I choose to be gentle.  If I raise my voice, may it only be in praise.  If I clench my fist, may it only be a prayer.  If I make a demand , may it only be of myself.

"cross words"
"when someone comes to you with an ugly attitude, return it with a kind word. Give it a try. You may be surprised at the outcome."

Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) A gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stirs up anger.

The Crowd Follower Lesson

The crowd followers

The crowd followers

Look at those crowd followers. Aren't they a bunch?  Are you following the crowd from breakfast to lunch and never asking, "Where are we going?"  They say to them, “We are just riding the current wherever it’s flowing.” Now, this is sure a breeze.  Following the crowd is as easy as you please." They never stop to consider where all this will end; they just keep on following all of their friends.
Everyone else must know where we're heading, so why should I do any fretting?  I'll just follow the crowd all day and all night.  I'm sure everything will turn out all right."  Everyone is laughing and having such fun.  Why not following the crowd would really be dumb.  I really don't care where all of this may end; I just want to keep having fun with my friends."
But, every road must come to an end.  The crowd followers too have to round the last bend.  And, when they do, they will come face to face with the creator and designer of the whole human race.  And, he'll not ask what the crowd has to say.  For each person will have to speak for themselves that day.
And, when everything has been said and done, the crowd again will march forward as one.  No one will, that day, want to follow their friends, because they know destruction will be their end, but because they spent their life following the crowd, on that final day, not turning back will be allowed.
Lesson:  If you decide to follow the crowd in life, you need to ask yourself one question? Do I really want to go where the crowd is leading?

Give praises to the lord all through the day

Psalm 1:48niv

This passage of verses encourages me to give praises to God for he is worthy.

"Praise the Lord!  Across the heavens, from the heights, all you angels, heavenly beings,
sing praise, sing praise!  Sun and moon, glittering stars, sing praise, sing praise.  Highest
heavens, rains clouds, sing praise, sing praise.  Praise God's name, whose word called
you forth and fixed you in place forever by eternal decree.  Let there be praise;  from
depths of the earth, from creatures of the deep. Fire and hail, snow and mist, storms,
winds, mountains, hills, fruit trees and cedars, wild beasts and tame, snakes and birds,
prince, judges, rulers, subjects, men, women, old and young, praise, praise his holy name,
this name beyond all names.  god's splendor above the earth, above the heavens, gives
strength to the nation, glory to the faithful, a people close to the Lord. Israel, let there be praise!"

Lesson about not quitting

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
when the road you're trudging seems all up hill;
When the funds are low and the debts are high
and you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit!

Life is strange with its twists and turns,

As everyone of us sometimes learns;
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won , had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow,
 You might succeed with another blow!

Often the goal is nearer than it seems,
To a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure, turned inside out,
The silver tent of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
 It may be near, when it seems afar;
S, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst, that YOU MUST NOT QUIT!
Lesson:
"Endure to the end" are words that we bear countless times in the scriptures.  What do they really mean to you?"

Scriptures:  Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto a perfect day.
Hebrews 11:6  For without faith, it is impossible to please him;  for he that cometh unto God must believe he is God and that he is a rewarded of them that diligently seek him.

GOD'S LOVE FOR HIS CHILDREN

GENESIS 1:1-31
This passage of scripture helps us to see why God created a help meet for Adam. He created and for eve, not Adam for Steve, and he loves us all unconditionally.

God loved his creations, but he was lonely.  He wanted a friend to share his new world, someone who would be like him. After careful consideration, he formed a man from the dust of the earth and called his name Adam unlike any of God's other choices.

ONE PAIR OF HANDS

"One pair of hands formed the mountains,
One pair of hands formed the sea,
One pair of hands made the sun and the moon,
Every bird, every flower, every tree.

One pair of hands formed the valleys,
The ocean, the rivers and the sand,
Those hands are no strong, So when life goes wrong,
put your faith into one pair of hands.

One pair of hands heal the sick,
One pair of hands raise the dead,
One pair of hands calm the ragging storm,
And thousands of people were fed.

One pair of hands said I love you,
And those hands were nailed to a tree,
Those hands are so strong, so when life goes wrong,
Put you faith into one pair of hands.

Those hands are so strong, so when life goes wrong,
Put your faith into one pair of hands.
Put your faith into one pair of hands."

Lesson:  who in their right mind wouldn't want to put their hopes and trust in one who is so powerful and mighty?

GOD MAKES A SERIOUS OFFER, HEBREW 7:27

God makes a serious offer, Hebrew 7:27

God offered us salvation by giving up his one and only son to die for the sins of the whole wide world. Now, that was a serious offer, and he  went through with all of his offers.  I believe that God wants us be serious in our walk with him too.  How many times have you witnessed people sing songs of Zion and haven't really submitted totally to God?  Just think about it, are we really serious when we sing songs like, "Lord I want to be a Christian in my heart, and when we sing songs like, Lord make me over, make me over again?"

THE DIFFERENCE

The Difference

 This poem reminds me to take time out of my busy schedule start my day by whispering a word of prayer because it really does makes a difference.

I got up early one morning

And rushed right into the day;

I had so much to accomplish

That I didn’t have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me,

And heavier came each task.

“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wandered.

He answered, “You didn’t ask,”
